The villages of Newton Center, Chestnut Hill, and Thompsonville make up the eastern segment of Newton, each of which are either served by the main roads of Boylston Street, Beacon Street or Commonwealth Avenue.
Newton Centre is the largest of the villages. The Newton city hall resides here along with a high-end shopping destination at its square serving most of the western suburbs. The MBTA’s Green Line provides subway services for Newton Centre at the Newton Center Station. And the Boston College Law School campus can be found here as well. Its public schools include Mason Rice Elementary and Ward Elementary.
Thompsonville is a lovely suburban neighborhood located just south of Newton Centre and is served by Boylston Street, making a direct commute to the heart of Boston.
Chestnut Hill is an affluent village of Newton with beautiful historic homes and wonderful scenery. It’s also home to Boston College and the meadowlands of the Chestnut Hill Reservation.
